I always feel like a Bank of America person
Heddy Narchi joined Bank of America in 1996, just two weeks after moving from Egypt to Charlotte, N.C. Her 25-year tenure with the company started in Investment Banking with Nationsbank. Her career with Bank of America included different roles in human resources and working on the transition teams for Countrywide, Fleet and Merrill Lynch International. Prior to her retirement, Heddy was part of the Global Risk Management organization for almost 10 years. Her experience offered a broad perspective on the enterprise encompassing diverse lines of business and geographies. She retired from the company in 2021 to take care of her mother and is now an active volunteer in her community and avid traveler with her husband.
As a dedicated volunteer, Heddy saw the impact of our Employee Networks while she was working. She served as the communications lead for the Disability Action Network because the special needs community has always been close to her heart—her work earned her a Global Opportunity & Inclusion Award. She keeps in touch with many of the people she met through our Employee Networks, even as some have gone on to other companies.
Because of her work with our Employee Networks, Heddy understood that making and maintaining connections is essential to accomplishing important goals. That’s one of the reasons she was drawn to the Alumni Network after retiring. “I moved to the U.S. in my mid-thirties, so my entire professional career in Charlotte was with Bank of America. Many of my friends are former colleagues, and the social, volunteering and professional connections I keep are vital.”
Heddy has leveraged her ties to our company through the Alumni Network to refer clients to the Wealth Management Organization and college grads as interns who ultimately became employees. Her daughter joined Bank of America's Global Human Resources as a college grad and worked for the company for 10 years. Recently, Heddy obtained certificates in Lifestyle, Nutrition and Wellness Coaching from Harvard Medical School Executive Education. In March 2025, Heddy and her friend who is a functional medicine practitioner started an organic skincare business based in Charlotte, Heddy + Hinton Naturals—the company is a business client.
Keeping in touch through the Alumni Network enables Heddy to meet new and former colleagues, sustain connections, continue to build skills, keep up with what’s happening at our company and attend alumni events. Heddy recommends joining for anyone moving on or retiring. “I always feel like a Bank of America person, even though I don’t work for the company anymore.”
